As a professional counsellor, I adhere to the ethical and continuing professional development requirements of the professional organisations of which I am a member. As well as training, this includes supervision of my professional practice.

I currently hold the following Qualifications:

  • OCN Introduction to Counselling skills certificate (2001)
  • RCA Certificate in Counselling skills (2001) Person - Centred model
  • CPCAB Advanced Certificate in therapeutic Counselling (2002) Person - Centred model
  • CPCAB Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (2003) CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) model

In addition to my private practice, I have worked in a number of Counselling Placements:

  • Doctor's Surgeries
  • Charity for Disabled people
  • Mentor/Counsellor with Gloucestershire Youth & Community Service working with young people who were at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

As part of my Continual Professional Development:

  • I attend Continuing Professional Development training. This training covers various aspects of counselling, including supervision, working with couples, working with young people, etc.

I was a successful retail superstore manager for Dixons Stores Group before a car accident in 1999 left me with a disability. It was at this point that I started studying for my counselling qualifications and I am currently studying for a Psychology degree in order to achieve Chartered Counselling Psychologist status.
