Is there a windfarm coming to near where you live? Are you uncomfortable with the Developers' visualisations? Do you need some help to put things in perspective?

Stuart Young Visualisations was created through a need to assess Developer's Environmental Statement windfarm photomontages for accuracy and realism. All too often the visual impact of turbines is misrepresented through poor quality photographic landscape images, "hazy" turbines, local screening, and perverse viewpoint selection. Inappropriate viewing distances are often selected. Claims to comply with Best Practice* are often hollow.

SYV offers a service in:

  • the production of large scale photomontages of windfarms or pylons for public display

  • critical assessment of Developer's photomontages and associated technical data

  • reporting of errors or untruths related to visualisations in Environmental Statements

  • preparation of visual and textual material for Planning Hearings and Public Inquiry, including personal appearance in support if appropriate.

* Visual Representation of Windfarms Good Practice Guidance 29 March 2006 Prepared for Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Renewables Forum, and
*
the Scottish Society of Directors of Planning
